Today I made what I am calling BeanieOhooos! I took a tortia shell and cut it with the pie cutter and placed in each well. I added a spoonfull of refried beans in to each shell. I then toped with cheese. Closed the machine and let bake for 8 minutes. I then put salsa and sourcream on top.
This would also be good with beef and beans. Great snack for the kids or a party. You can serve refried beans without a plate and a fork. I was able just to pick these up and eat them.
We had snow again today! I do not know what is up with this crazy weather!
The salsa on these I also make this myself. It is very easy and takes only a minute to make. Take 1 can of crushed tomatoes, add 2 tablespoons of jalapienos, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon salt, cilantro and ½ of a chopped onion. Mix well and place in the refridgerator. Best salsa!
ReplyDeleteI want to make these for an upcoming party! What kind of tortillas did you use? Did they crisp up nicely? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Dina. The tortillas I used were just flour ones that come in a big package. The shells were firm but not chrip like a taco salad shell. I was able to hold the shell and bite. The shell did not fall apart nor did the bean filling fall out.
ReplyDeleteHi- to make them crispy brush olive oil on them prior to cooking.
ReplyDeleteBake these with no filling for 11-14 minutes. Hope this helps!! Great recipe!!
